Same stuff I did the first time except they gave me the maximum dose of menapur and bravelle (4 vials of each daily).
We got 6 eggs total (but one was overgrown). 5 fertilized and 2 embryos were really good so we transferred those and watched the other 3 for progress.
I was told the last 3 didn't develop well and were discarded. (Nothing frozen)

The last transfer of 2 embryos on the fresh cycle was unsuccessful. It had a very low hcg level but the odd thing was that the level kept doubling every 2 days the way it would for a viable pregnancy, which this was not. I got a real period and the level was still doubling. The weird part was that I went through so many different levels of sonograms, even at the hospital and no one could find it. A week after my period I spotted and the level dropped.
Starting fresh, I had one embryo left in the freezer to transfer. I chose to do a natural transfer (no medication). After I ovulated I was on medrol and doxycycline twice a day for 4 days and progesterone suppositories twice a day for 10 days. (Note, the suppositories leak a lot)
Symptoms:
Day of FET - I was told to be on bed rest today and tomorrow. stayed on the couch all day, lying down, only getting up to pee. Felt nothing.
1dp3dt- bed (couch) rest. nothing
2dp3dt- bed (couch) rest, went to my in-law for dinner. nothing
3dp3dt- bed (couch) rest. sore nipples, went to a movie, then dinner and ate a ton late at night
4dp3dt- woke up starving! Not really cramping, but for the past few days I feel a sensitivity in my uterus when I use the suppositories. Today I was walking around the mall for 2 hours. Now I feel twinges through my vagina and cramps in my uterus. Bloated and I have to pee a lot.
5dp3dt- bloated, feeling like my period is coming any second, have to pee a lot. Still leaking from the progesterone suppositories. Achy right side momentarily. I took an opk after dinner and it came out with a faint line.
6dp3dt- heavy uterus, woke up with feeling of swollen feet and legs. Went back to sleep and dh made a phone call, yelling on speaker phone in the room, shattered my nerves and now I'm angry and grumpy and sad. The rest of the day, achy uterus, lower back, hips, legs, & sides of breasts. Protruding lower abdomen. Extremely gassy. I've had no cm the past few days.
7dp3dt- back ache, uterus aches, legs aching.
8dp3dt- a little bloated and the sides of my boobs ache and theyre heavy but otherwise I feel nothing.
9dp3dt- full, firm & achy lower belly, achy lower back & hips, huge & achy boobs, faiiiiiiiiiint line on frer hpt at 7am! Quantitative Hcg level this morning was 5 but I tested 1-2days before I was supposed to. Let's hooooppee!!!
10dp3dt- full achy boobs. Free still very very faint.
11 strong smelling pee, achy boobs, bloated light hpt 12 strong smelling pee, achy boobs, bloated. Negative hpt. Cramps, very very light pink spotting.CD 4-10 with fsh injection hormones, large & sore boobs, bloating, gas, constipation.
CD 11 (day after hcg injection) huge boobs very sore, even without touch. Bloated, gassy, constipated, emotional.
0dpo (Egg retrieval day)- out of 7 follicles they only got 3 eggs. I was really upset. I must have ovulated before they went in! Nausea after waking up from surgery, they put something in my iv to fix that immediately. Period-like cramps when I woke up, extra-strength Tylenol fixed that immediately. Went home, took a nap later in the day. Progesterone shot.
1dpo- large and sore breasts, cramping in uterus and ovaries. Took a second day off work because I knew it would be too much of a strain for me. Called nurses, they said my 3 eggs fertilized successfully!
2dpo- cramps feeling much better. Called nurses they said my 3 eggs are still doing very well and to come in the next day for embryo transfer.
3dpo- embryo transfer- we transferred 2 and froze the 3rd. They had my staying led down for 30 minutes then asked me to go home. Felt nothing immediately.. Felt like it was all make believe. Bed rest the rest of the day, only got up to use the bathroom. Sore boobs, only went to the bathroom for #2 before the embryo transfer and was so so constipated.
4dpo- same.. But then In the evening, I started feeling pressure and shooting pains above my pelvic bone to the right and occasionally to the left. Very acidic stomach, acid reflux. Lower back ache. Later in the evening, my constipation was over!! Whoo hoo!
5dpo- morning- bbs less swollen and sensitive. gassy. Lower backache.
Evening- swollen lower abdomen. Feeling hot, but that could be because we have a warm top floor apartment.
6dpo- sharp pains above pelvic bone on each side and shooting downward all day and my right side waist. Bbs not so sore. Gassy.
7dpo- sharp pains again, especially vaginally and my right side. bbs a little sore. Gassy.
8dpo- few aches, bbs getting sore again but not much else today. Getting worried.
but then before bed, feeling aches in uterus again, just not as painful. Gassy. Crazy bad dream!!!
9dpo- cold sore on my lip, bloated, gassy, minor aches down there, huge sore breasts, felt very hot all day, irritable and uncomfortable, on the way to bed spontaneously threw up a little in the toilet.
10dpo- I can't tell for sure but I think my sense of smell is stronger. Bloated. Bright yellow cm, in the evening cm was yellow and also pink on the same wipe!! Implantation bleeding!! (or maybe my period is about to start early again??) Gonna go crazy.
11dpo- beige spotting, a moment of pink then back to beige but nothing most of the day. Feeling really fat. The progesterone shots really slow down my metabolism and i'm gaining so much weight!!
12dpo- took an hpt frer and it came out with a faint line. Dh refused to get excited until it was 100% unmistakeable. feeling good, no real symptoms. Picked up someone's 2 year old and walked upstairs from a basement. Felt a strain and when I got home, spotted pink (ooh no!) After that it went back to beige then nothing.
13dpo- hpt lighter?? Beige spotting once.
14dpo-no symptoms, almost completely invisible line on hpt??????? Beta was 6. Dr says its not a viable pregnancy, you will most likely get your period in 2-3 days. Dh and I were in hysterics. Dr says to take no more shots.
15dpo-nothing, no period no symptoms
16dpo- feeling a bit of cramping, not the same as usual period cramping but figure my period is due. 2nd beta-the numbers doubled!!? Now @ 11. N use says its not good because the first beta tellsa lot, not a good pregnancy. They are hoping it goes down to 0 so I can start over. Everything I read says that as long as its doubling every 2 days, its good. So confused!!! Meeting with Dr tomorrow.
Tuesday through Saturday I was directed to take the Menopur & Bravelle for a total of 9 days. Sunday I was directed to take the hgc injection at midnight in my belly.
Finally I got to take a break Monday and Tuesday was my egg retrieval. The nurses advised me not to eat or drink, they put me under with an iv for about 30 min. Out of 7 follicles they only got 3 eggs.. =( I really think I ovulated before the surgery.
Now the fun.. 2 pills twice a day (one antibiotic and one steroid pill to reduce inflammation). Plus, a brand new injection in my love handles with a huge needle every night for a couple of months!! That one hurts.
Friday I had my embryo transfer. They give you a picture of the embryos they will transfer. The whole transfer takes like 5 minutes.
Bed rest for 2 days. i'm on the 2nd evening now and i'm starting to feel shooting pains above my pelvic bone on the right side and gas. I hope these are good feelings. Meanwhile, gonna take it easy and keep you posted!

Ps.. The nurses gave me my blood test prescription for 12 days after my embryo transfer, March 6th!
So far, i've taken a shot every night for the past 4 nights. I think tomorrow i'm going to start the other medication ganirelix and take 2 shots a day to make sure I don't ovulate while my eggs are growing. I have been so bloated this whole time.
I thought they would allow me to take the progesterone by suppository but Dr says 1. Its not covered by the grant and 2. Its not as effective and I need to keep my progesterone levels high to support the pregnancy. Lots of emotional crying today.
Nurse called and said 2 more days with the menapur & bravelle and to come back day 6 with the ganirelix that was prescribed.

Its been 8 months since my last blog.. My friend from the baby shower blog has her baby growing up fast and ivf tried iui for a total of 7 months now. All failed. Sometimes we did iui over in a cycle, sometimes twice. But all of them failed. My husband tried eating well, acupuncture, eating this mixed paste of honey, nuts.. Honestly I don't even know what's in it, but I know his mom paid a lot to get it. But, nothing.
In November I had a hysteroscopy which was quite a painful test. They put this long metal rod inside of me, clamped on to the inside of my uterus, injected a saline solution and watched it pass through my fallopian tubes and squirrel around my uterus. That day they found a polyp in my uterus. I had surgery a couple Weeks later. I was so nervous for the surgery, but it want so bad. I was asleep!
I decided that we would try iui a couple more times, but March was my cut off point. If I didn't conceive by March, I would bite the bullet and do ivf. As it turned out, the ivf cycle begins the month before on cycle day 21 with a Lupron injection everyday until Mt period would begin. We tried ivf in December and January and I told my Dr in Jan that i'm ready for ivf if this doesn't work. Lucky for me, my Dr let me know about a grant being offered for strong candidates for the ivf process.we consulted with my Dr and the financial assistant, and our follow up grant consultation fell right on the due date of my period. Doc said "why wait? Let's start this month. Come in tomorrow for blood work and sonogram and we will get you started on your shots." My handstand and I looked at each other and said what?? This month??? Tomorrow??!
The next day was my blood work when a phlebotomist was there and was able to take my blood on the first Try! (No veins and i'm terrified of needles. I'm very sensitive)
They showed us how to mix the Menapur and Bravelle with sodium chloride for the injection and advised me to start the next day, any time between 5-10 pm.
I couldn't do it! No way..not myself. I ended up burying my face in my husband's belly while my brother injected it into my belly. I've watched and read so many people online say it didn't hurry at all but for me this was not the case... Ouch!!! 3rd day of my cycle (Friday)
It took me a while hour between mixing and meeting them inject me. 2nd night I mixed everything before my brother came over and it took me 2 minutes, still ouch!! Day 3 and I Gabe blood.. Not fun. They tried, not bad but she missed my vein. Tried a second time.. Painful but she missed. Third time in my hand which I protested.. Owwwwwww!!!!! But they got it. Sonogram showed 6 follicles on the right and 3 on the left! Whoo hoo! The Dr that day suggested that for my blood tests,I drink plenty of water, lift arm weights and keep my arms warm before they take blood.
They called around 3 pm to let me know I should continue the same mixture for 2 more nights and come back again on day 5 for blood and Sonni again. Also my husband started his antibiotic on day 3.
